Our artisans draw the model directly onto the wooden last

Hand drawing patterns over the wooden last is a traditional method very rarely done by manufacturers nowadays. We still use this traditional method in which a pattern is created over the wooden last. Therefore, we can design all the detailing, buckles, tassels... on the exact spot of the last.
A single pattern under development may need 2-3 months from the first draft until the final version of the model. Our artisans carefully calculate symmetry lines, the positioning of different pieces, broguing position and spacing..
Once we have decided on a final pattern, we would transfer the design onto adhesive tracing paper in order to create a flat lay of the design. This flat lay would then be the resource to create the main pieces that will make up the pattern.

CREATING THE PATTERN PIECES
The lines traced on the last in three dimensions are tessellated onto pattern pieces with which we can then click the leather.
