Leathers are hand clicked by our artisans, they click the leather for each model and size at a time to ensure all the leather used to manufacture a single pair of shoes comes from the same hide and area. With this process we ensure an even finish and result.
Quality
Despite selecting the best hides, our artisans study and avoid any faults in the leather. Faults in the leather are usually caused by animal veins marked on the hides or any wounds animals could have had during their life. However, artisans are well trained to spot these details and place the pieces avoiding these areas.
Tools
"Our artisans essentially work with two main tools: a cutting instrument and a grinding stone. Each artisan has their own secret cutting tool which varies from surgical knives to self-drafted tools. They all have their non-transferable tools which have sometimes been with them for over a decade. Their most important tool would be the grinding stone, something they are given the first day they click into leather and which will last a lifetime."
